LGBTTQ and the SCHOOL LIBRARY LEARNING COMMONS

Fort Garry Pub­lic Library

Alix-Rae Ste­fanko, Youth Ser­vices Librar­ian and Kim Parry, Out­reach Librar­ian at Win­nipeg Pub­lic Library will pro­vide an overview of diver­sity related activ­i­ties. They will speak to ser­vices at Win­nipeg Pub­lic Library includ­ing col­lec­tion devel­op­ment, pro­gram­ming, out­reach and demon­strate a new online infor­ma­tion guide devoted to LGBTTQ resources that is cur­rently in development.

We will also have a stu­dent panel made up of sev­eral high school stu­dents who share their expe­ri­ences as part of a GSA club in their school, the LGBTTQ lit­er­a­ture in their school library and answer any questions.

Come and learn more about how to ensure your school library is a safe and inclu­sive place for our LGBTTQ stu­dents and staff.
